This portrait appears
similar, but not identical to a portrait of
Rubinstein by Repin in
a museum in Samara, Russia. I am wondering if
Repin did more than one. Rubinstein's pose is almost identical, but the
colors appear more lavish,
with a very rosy hue in the background in the Samara portrait.
